TPR drops, three die; IW tally crosses 40K

Imphal, September 14 2021:
The state on Tuesday reported three fatalities and 231 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 3329 samples tested, thus registering a positivity rate of 6,94 per cent against Monday's 7.12 per cent.
The cumulative number of positive cases in Imphal West district alone has crossed 40,000 on Tuesday.
Imphal West is followed by Imphal East, which had also crossed the 26,000-mark on Tuesday.
Though the positivity rate in the state remains single digit, Noney (11.4 per cent) and Imphal West (11.2 per cent) recorded double digit positivity rate.
The active caseload has also come down to 2614 out of which 510 (19.51 per cent) are in home isolation, 909 (34.77 per cent) in CHICs, 749 (28.65 per cent) in CCCs and 446 (17.06 per cent) in hospitals.
Among the hospitalised patients, 97 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 131 are on oxygen support and 32 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on the number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support at JNIMS, Hand Hospital and LFS Covid Treatment Centre even though these facilities have 152,14 and 4 patients respectively.
On the other hand, there are no patients on oxygen support in any of the CCCs.
As of Tuesday evening, 590 beds including 105 ICU/HDU beds are available in different hospitals.
There is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities but as of Monday evening 2724 beds were available in different Covid Care Centres and 353 beds (22 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 88,061 positive cases and 1441 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month recorded 3528 new cases and 33 fatalities out of which 1595 new cases and 13 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 231 new positive cases included 229 people (105 male& 124 female) from among the general population and 2 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and their samples were detected at RIMS (1), JNIMS (35) and other testing centres (195), The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (37), Imphal West (132), Thoubal (10), Bishnupur (5), Kakching (3), Ukhrul (10), Churachandpur (17), Chandel (l), Senapati (3), Tamenglong (2), Noney (4), Kamjong (1) and Kangpokpi (4) .
The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 3 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours.
One of them was from Imphal East and the other two from Imphal West.
The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1815.Out of the three victims, one did not have co-morbid conditions and none of them had taken Covid vaccine.
In the last 24 hours, 231 patients were discharged from home isolation (82), RIMS (6), JNIMS (16), CCCs (90) and CHICs (37) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,17,461 (general population - 1,13,287 and CAPF personnel - 4,174) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,13,032 (general population - 1,08,898 and CAPF personnel - 4,134) and number of active cases is 2,614 (general population - 2,579 and CAPF personnel - 35) .
The recovery rate is 96.23 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1219 D-type and 229 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
Only 5806 vaccine doses were administered on Monday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 12,01,850 including 3,98,511 fully vaccinated people.
As of Monday, 94,990 people eligible for the second dose of Covid vaccine are yet to get the second shot.
Meanwhile, four positive cases were detected out of 38 samples tested in Kakching district on Tuesday.
All are residents of Kakching district, according to DSO Kakching Dr Kesho.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (40,048), Imphal East (26,009), Thoubal (9248), Churachandpur (9896), Kangpokpi (2690), Tamenglong (3234), Bishnupur (8878), Senapati (2142), Ukhrul (2515), Kakching (6288), Chandel (2221), Noney (1057), Tengnoupal (1022), Jiribam (1012), Kamjong (773) and Pherzawl (428).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (603), Imphal East (429), Thoubal (167), Churachandpur (154), Kangpokpi (56), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (184), Senapati (8), Ukhrul (29), Kakching (110), Chandel (34), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (4) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 37,854 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 23,860 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,04,672 tests per million population against the national average of 3,89,928 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 3329 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 6.94 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 9.35 per cent.
