AR celebrates Hindi Diwasf Pushan Maah

Assam Rifles units of IGAR (S) observed Hindi Diwas on Tuesday and organised events at various locations to promote Hindi as the language of masses.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) stated that Hindi Diwas is celebrated every year to commemorate the adoption of Hindi as one of the official languages of the nation on September 14, 1949 .
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of Assam Rifles troops in various competitions which include debates, poem recitation, typing, etc.
On the other hand, 44 AR of 22 Sector/IGAR (East) organised Hindi Poem recitation competition for its non-Hindi speaking troops in Tamenglong district.
According to PIB Defence, the battalion celebrates Rajbhasha Week or Hindi Week every year from September 14 to 21 on the occasion of Hindi Diwas.
Troops especially from northeast India enthusiastically participated in the competition.
To further promote the language, one day complete working in the office in Hindi was also carried out.
The participants were felicitated by battalion's second-in-command with presentation of cash rewards, the PIB said adding that a week-long language based competitions and workshops are being planned by the battalion in various parts of the Tamenglong district.
Meanwhile, Churachandpur Sector of IGAR (South) celebrated Poshan Maah' with the children of Sangga Moun Inn Orphanage Home at Tuibong village in Churachandpur district on Tuesday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), a lecture was conducted for the staff and children on the importance of nourishment and education of children in overall development of society as part of the event.
The children were also educated about Covid-19 protocols like maintaining social distancing, wearing of masks and regular washing of hands to safeguard themselves.
The event culminated with distribution of books, sports items and Covid relief essentials, it added.
