Awareness campaign held, medicines distributed

Committee on COVID-19, Manipur comprising CADA, UPF, NIPCO, AMSU, UPACO and MAPI Council carried out COVID-19 mass awareness programme and poster campaign for street vendors on Tuesday in main market areas at Wangkhei Andro Parking, Lamlong, Singjamei, Thoubal, Wangjing and Kakching.
A press release issued by Committee's media coordinator Geetchandra Mangang informed that the volunteers educated the street vendors to maintain social distancing while carrying out their business, to wear face masks properly and adhere to SOPs and guidelines issued by the state government using loud speakers.
The volunteers also handed out face masks to individuals wearing unhygienic masks and those without one.
The people who came to buy groceries were also urged to maintain social distancing and to properly park their vehicles so as to avoid any inconveniences to the general public, the release informed.
The poster campaign urged the public to never take off their face masks in public places, to distance oneself from others while eating at such places, not to buy from vendors without face masks, wash hands regularly, maintain a distance of 6 feet from others, replace masks which have been worn for more than 14 hours, diligently follow SOPs and to honour the service of police.
Furthermore, 60 packets of AYUSH 64 tablet were handed over to Ningol Sintha Yaipha Lup Wangkhem on Tuesday in continuation of distribution of the medicines provided to the Committee by AYUSH Directorate, the release added.
