MPCC's Bhupenda made IAFC vice chairman

Under the aegis of All India Congress Committee, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has elevated Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Ningombam Bhupenda to the post of vice chairman of All India Fishermen Congress (IAFC) .
Before the 2019 Lok Sabha election, Bhupenda was inducted into the IAFC by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and entrusted Bhupenda to look after problems faced by fishermen in the eight states of the North East.
Elated over the new appointment, Bhupenda told The People's Chronicle that he thanked Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi for handing him the huge responsibility of looking after the welfare activities of the fishermen of the country.
He also vowed to work sincerely for the welfare of fishermen of the country under the supervision of IAFC chairman and Lok Sabha MP TN Prathapan.
Mention may be made that AICC general secretary KC Venugopal issued a notification appointing six vice-chairmen, four national coordinators, five general secretaries, nine secretaries and nine executive members to assist IAFC chairman TN Prathapan.
