A unit of Edneed, a software company which deals with technology application in education was formally launched during a seminar organized by the company at Hotel Classic Grande, Chingmeirong today.
The launching function cum seminar which was held under the theme "Highlighting the importance of technology in the field of education and building a knowledge sharing community" was attended by Technical Education, Manipur Deputy Director Dr Bhabeswar Tongbram, Edneed Director (Business Development) Sammy Singh, retired IAS officer RK Nimai, Impact TV Chief Editor Yumnam Rupachandra and representatives of the United Association of Recognised Schools of Manipur (UARSOM).
Speaking at the function, Bhabeswar emphasized the usage of technology in education.
He also stressed on minimizing digital gap in education sector and improving technology based education system in the country and State.
Bhabeswar opined that reaping benefits of the user-friendly technological education system and application of community radio and terrestrial service would go a long way in imparting education, especially during the time of pandemic.
The Deputy Director also asked the software company which operates the education portal in the State to maintain their standard.
Sammi, while speaking at the function, claimed that the application of technology in education is a necessity in the modern education system.
He said that Edneed is making its footstep with an intent to digitize Manipur and added that Edneed will try its best to improve the educational system of Manipur and country as a whole by harnessing the creative power of individuals to develop, test and implement innovative and efficient solutions to complex problems through a rigorous quality improvement approach.
Rupachandra in his speech underscored the importance of the judicious use of technology in the modern education system.
Saying that technology has become more invasive during the COVID-19 pandemic, he observed that the usage of technology in education cannot be shrugged off in the modern education system.
He, however, added that no amount of technology usage can make education thriving and conducive unless the teachers are well trained.
