Imphal, October 16 2021:
With the aim of digitalising the educational institutions of the state, State Technical Education deputy director Dr Bhabeswar Tongbram launched the online education system 'Edneed' in a function held at Hotel Classic Grande, Chingmeirong here on Saturday.
The launch function was attended by CBSE Affiliated Schools' Association Manipur president S Premabati, United Association of Recognised Schools of Manipur president Laishram Joy, retired IAS RK Nimai, Edneed Brand Ambassador Gouramangi, Edneed USA Business Development director Sammy and others.
Speaking at the event, Dr Bhabeswar iterated that education plays a huge role in guiding the society into the right direction.
India, too, has an education system based on the traditional values and ethos.
Under the present government, National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 was implemented in April this year.
The government had also sought suggestions and recommendations from various stakeholders in preparation and implementation of NEP, he added.
Dr Bhabeswar continued that the online education system came into full swing owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The newly launched 'Edneed' will help provide a new platform of learning for both the teachers and the students.
The new system will be more inclusive as it would address the issues faced by differently-abled and underprivileged students as well, he conveyed.
As part of the launch function, a seminar to spread awareness on Edneed was carried out.
Mention may be made here that Edneed is a USA-based educational software company.
Manipur is the regional office of the company in the northeast region.
