COFT observes 'World Food Day'

The College of Food Technology (COFT), Central Agricultural University (CAU) observed 'World Food Day' 2021 at its conference hall today.
The programme was observed under the theme 'Our actions are our future- Better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a better life', said a statement issued by COFT.
Prof Ph Ranjit Sharma, MD, Manipur Food Industries Corporation Limited; T Sanajaoba, secretary, All Manipur Food Processors Association and Dr Ng Joukumar Singh, dean i/c COFT attended the programme as presidium members, added the statement.

Prof Ph Ranjit Sharma deliberated on the significance of observing the day to understand the relationship between food production system and food security as well as nutrition security in the present day situations.
He also mentioned the need for inculcation of the right temperament for each one of us to be a food hero by avoiding food wastage and being conscious consumers.
T Sanajaoba talked about the importance of food processing as a means of eradicating nutrient deficiency and hunger.
Dr Joykumar informed the attendees about the infrastructural facilities available at COFT laboratory that can benefit the food entrepreneurs of the State.
