Imphal, October 16 2021:
Association of Eligible Candidates for Hindi Primary Teachers on Contract Basis 2021 has condemned the state government for allowing onetime relaxation of TET and making changes to the eligibility criteria.
Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club here Saturday, Association president B Nawas recounted that the Directorate of Education issued a notice on February 17 for recruitment of 301 Hindi Primary teachers.
Accordingly, application forms were submitted and admit cards of 70 candidates, who had fulfilled the RR, were issued.
After a period of silence, a new notice was issued on October 15, wherein the number of posts was increased from 148 to 449, in addition to making changes in the eligibility criteria along with a one-time relaxation for TET.
Such changes are not acceptable to the candidates who have fulfilled the eligibility criteria, he contended.
Nawas Khan continued that since 2012, TET was made compulsory in recruitment of primary teachers.
Thus, the Association cannot agree to relaxing the same as it is disadvantageous to jobseek-ers who truly want to be in the teaching profession and have fulfilled the necessary RR but are made into average candidates in 2021 .
Urging the state government to give priority to eligible candidates in the recruitment process based on the notice issued on February 17, including making special reservation; he drew the attention of the government and expressed belief that it will translate the Association's demands into action.
