Jadonang Martyr's Day observed in Pune

People of Zeliangrong community living in Pune observed the 91st Martyr's Day of Haipou Jadonang on August 29 at Legends Sports Complex, Pune in Maharashtra.
In a release, Zeliangrong Students Pune (ZSP) president Joyhind Kamei informed that leaders and members of Zeliangrongpui community, Pune, paid obeisance to the freedom fighter by observing a minute's silence in remembrance of his supreme sacrifice followed by lighting of candles and offering floral tributes to the visionary leader.
Various speakers dwelled on the social change and political awareness brought on by Jadonang in the course of his rebellious movement against the British which led to revolutionising and envisioning the native people towards 'Makaam Guangdi' or 'Makaam Mei Rui Guang Tu Puni' giving the movement a wider perspective of Naga Raj , it added.
ZSP further stated that the speakers also reflected on the struggle by the current political leaders who are spearheading the political movement for a Zeliangrong state and the on-going talks with the Government of India to bring into reality the unfinished tasks of the departed leader.
They stressed the success of the movement will entail the people s constant prayers and support in all forms.
