CCpur, November 04 2022:
With the confirmation of four new Dengue cases, the number of people suffering from dengue has risen to 58 as of Friday in Churachandpur district.
According to District Malaria Officer (DMO) Dr Liangoumuan Samte, the total number of active cases of Dengue in the district is 7, including two patients who are currently admitted to the district hospital.
Rest of the patients are undertaking treatment at their respective homes with assistance of ASHA workers.
While stating that the spike in the number of dengue cases has assumed an epidemic proportion, Dr Liangoumuan cautioned that there might be increase in the number of patients.
This is basically because they cannot reach out and check each and every house and can't give awareness by going from house to house, he explained.
Highlighting the steps taken up under his initiative for creating mass awareness, the DMO said that the public are being cautioned on the vector-borne disease through local media, use of public address system and other means.
He urged the people to strictly follow preventive measures circulated through the mass media.
