Regional seminar concludes

A two-day regional seminar hosted by Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal at its campus, College of Agriculture (COA), Iroisemba was concluded today.
The seminar was organized jointly by Central Agricultural University, Imphal and Bhartiya Kisan Sangh, said a press note by the Dean of COA.
The seminar was attended by farmers from different States of NEH region.
Apart from the farmers, students of College of Agriculture, Imphal and scientists of different campuses of this University and Manipur University as well as ICAR also participated in the seminar.
The seminar accommodated five technical sessions (two on first day and three on second day) .
Scientists, farmers and social workers presented their views on different themes like, Session-I: Sujalam - Sufalam - Sasyashyamalam and its conservation for future generation; Session-II: Bhumi Suposhan through soil microbiomes and natural farming practices; Session-Ill: Students' poster presentation with the theme 'Nature based Farming System for Bhumi (soil) Suposhan and Sanrakshan'; Session-IV: Animal and Aquaculture-based Farming Model for Bhumi Sanrakshan; Session-V: success stories on sustainable soil health development from NEH region.
On the concluding day, a plenary session was organized under the Chairmanship of Dr Anupam Mishra, Vice - Chancellor of CAU, Imphal, where reports of different technical sessions were presented.
He emphasized the implementation of recommendations of this seminar in future with the coordination of ICAR, land-based departments and NGOs of the NEH region.
Appreciation/participation certificates and awards were given to the participants of the seminar.
The convener of the seminar, Professor Indira Sarangthem, Dean of College of Agriculture expressed gratitude to farmers, VC of CAU, Imphal; Bhartiya Kisan Sangh and faculty/staff of the College for successful organization of the seminar.
