New party looking out for self-interests: Shiv Sena

While stating that the Shiv Sena party under Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and the state BJP are working together and still standing strong; Shiv Sena, Manipur Unit has stated that the Shiv Sena party led by Uddhav Thackeray is only looking out for its own interests.
Speaking to newspersons at Shiv Sena office, Babu-para here Friday, party's State general secretary (administration) Chingtham Chandramani pointed out that Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray's resolve was to never work with Congress party.
His (Bal Thackeray) son Uddhav Thackeray, in his desire to become the party president and the CM of Maharashtra, not only betrayed his father 's ideology but also caused the party to split into two.
At the moment, the Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde is still upholding Bal Thackeray's ideology and has the support of over 3000, out of the 3500 senior leaders of the party.
In addition, of the 55 Shiv Sena MLAs in Maharashtra, 45 support Eknath Shinde, while 12 out of 18 MPs have joined the Eknath Shinde camp and working alongside with the central BJP.
However, as the split happened before the elections, EC1 has seized the previous symbol of the party.
Thus, tne new symbol of the party is two swords and a shield,
he conveyed.
Regarding the opening of Shiv Sena Manipur Unit by supporters of Uddhav Thackeray at Singjamei parking; Chandramani said that the group is doing so out of self-interest, considering the Eknath-led Shiv Sena is bound to win some seats in the ULBs polls.
He then informed the people of the state that the BJP government is still at the centre and will continue to work with Shiv Sena well into the future.
