Hold health camps at remote places, suggests Dr Ranjan

Health Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh has stressed on the need to organise health awareness campaigns at remote areas of the State.
The Minister was speaking as chief guest on the occasion of Global Iodine Deficiency Disorder Prevention Day, 2022 held at IMA Hall, Lamphelpat, Imphal today.
He maintained that a targeted approach has to be maintained to make the calendar programmes of the State fruitful.
"We need a survey and collect data of the particular area before organising such programmes," he added.
Dr Ranjan continued that there wouldn't be any development in the tertiary healthcare system without improving the primary healthcare which is at the grassroots.

The Government is trying to improve the overall healthcare system in the State, he said.
He further stated that all the participants of the awareness programs should share the knowledge they accumulated with others to make the programme productive.
Additional Director of Public Health, Dr Gopalkrishna said that iodine deficiency may cause thyroid, diabetes, heart diseases etc.
He also said that "we should take only iodized salt" .
Dr Somorjit Ningombam, State Mission Director, NHM, Manipur; Dr Lourembam Ashananda, Senior Regional Director, Health & Family Welfare also attended the programme among others.
