The Chief Minister asserted that the laying of synthetic football turf at Senapati Public Ground and construction of Indigenous Sports Complex at Maram Khunou are very close to his heart and committed before the public that the two projects will be delivered to the people before the election code of conduct for the 2024 parliamentary election comes into force.

Highlighting that the BJP Government was able to retain power because the Government was able to deliver its promises in its previous term, the Chief Minister said the public will not trust the Government if it is unable to deliver what it promises.

Stating that lack of interaction between the Government and the public will create a gap, the Chief Minister said that the Go to Hills, Go to Village and Meeyamgi Numit programmes were launched to bridge this gap.

The Chief Minister who inspected the Meeyamgi Numit and Hill Leaders Day held at the district headquarters on his way to the venue also expressed happiness on learning that around 37,000 cards for Ayushman Bharat and Chief Minister's Hakshel Gi Tengbang have been distributed in the district.

Biren also highlighted several other projects being taken up in the district including construction of PHSC buildings at Chakumai, Chakha, Rajaimei, Sadim Lakhamai High School building, 50-bedded girls' hostel at Sardar Patel H/S, Mao Gate, Primary School at Liyai H/S, working women hostel at Senapati headquarters, 50-bedded girls' hostel at Purul Hr Secondary School, 50-bedded girls' hostel at Liyai Khullen H/S, installation of water supply line with reservoir tank at District Hospital, Senapati, installation of water supply line with reservoir tank at JNV, Mao, staff quarters at PHC Laii, PHC building at Pudunamei, PHSC building at Maopundung, Model Residential School at Senapati district headquarters, 100-bedded hostel at Residential School, Bendramai, PHC Building at Oinam Hill etc.

The War on Drugs is almost on the brink of success today with the support of the masses, village leaders, religious leaders, CSOs etc, he said, adding that the movement has become a public movement.

Further appealing to the public to support the movement against corruption, the Chief Minister further said there should be no room for corruption in any new recruitment process.

The Chief Minister also invited the people of the district to attend the Manipur Sangai Festival.

Works Minister Govindas Konthoujam stated that the State Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren, had inaugurated various projects and also laid foundation stones for other districts too within a short span.

He expressed hopefulness that the Chief Minister's dream to bring uniform development in the State and inclusive growth would be achieved soon.

He stressed the importance of road communication and man to man communication for economic development and added that the State is lucky to have Asian Highway No.1 passing through Senapati district.

He appealed to the public to cooperate and support in the highway improvement work.

Tribal Affairs and Hills Minister Letpao Haokip stated that the projects which had been inaugurated and those whose foundation stones had been laid today are results of the Go to Hills and Go to Village missions.

He maintained that the bonding among different communities of the hills and the valley is becoming stronger under the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren Singh.

Stating that the road infrastructure of the State is improving, the Minister sought support of the public in the Government's development work.

MLA of Mao AC Losii Dikho expressed his thankfulness to the Chief Minister for taking up various projects for the district.

The MLA continued that the State Government had implemented many flagship programmes including promotion of youths.

Dikho further added that with peace prevailing in the State, youths could get access to all the benefits of welfare programmes these days.

He asked all the youths not to depend for everything on the Government and further appealed to stand up and become an important contributor to the development of the State.

Karong MLA J Kumo Sha said the Chief Minister has managed to breach the difference between the hills and the valley.

Today, Senapati district is witnessing a huge change in development under the Chief Minister's leadership, he added.

"We are witnessing a huge change in our State.

We have come to realise that when there is peace, we can bring development", he said.

On their arrival, the Chief Minister and the dignitaries were accorded a warm welcome by the District Administration led by DC Mahesh Chowdhury and the general public.

Villagers expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for opening UCO Bank branch at Phaibung Khullen and offered a memento to the Chief Minister through the village authority.

The function was also attended by Transport Minister Kashim Vashum, Hills Areas Committee Chairman Dinganglung Gangmei, Langthabal MLA Karam Shyam and Mayang Imphal MLA Kongkham Robindro Singh, among others.

The formal function was attended by DLOs, village authority leaders, CSO representatives, tribe leaders, students and the general public.
