Imphal, April 06 2023:
Sehlon Battalion Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) conducted a medical camp for school children of Govt High School, New Samtal village with an aim to provide healthcare services to underserved and remote communities that have limited access to medical care.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the children in particular often face significant barriers to healthcare service due to a lack of facilities, trained medical professionals and transportation options.
By conducting medical camp in the area, the Battalion aims to bring essential medical services and treatments directly to the children of the community.
It can help to identify and treat health conditions in their early stages, reducing the need for more costly and complex interventions later on, the PRO said, adding that it can also help to raise awareness and educate the community about important health issues, promoting healthy behaviours and prevention measures that can improve overall health outcomes.
On the other-hand, Shangshak Battalion Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) organised drawing competition and distribution of stationery items for students of Nambashi High School in Kamjong district on Thursday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), 24 students of the school from Class I to VI participated in the drawing competition.
As a token of appreciation and encouragement to the budding minds, the best drawings were scrutinised and awarded.
Equally elated were the non-winners who received the consolation prizes.
Distribution of stationery items was carried out to the students to help them pursue their hobbies ahead, informed the PRO.
