CM treasures graft-free era, development in state

People of the state are now witnesses to corruption-free job recruitment and transparency in development works with the coming of BJP government, exclaimed chief minister N Biren Singh.
Addressing the gathering at the 43rd Foundation Day of BJP held at Thambal Shanglen, Nityaipat Chuthek, here, on Thursday, CM Biren said that it is duty of the government to formulate policy and law for welfare of the people and make a strong and united India.
The BJP governments at the Centre as well as in the state have been working collectively for development of the state.
Allocation of Rs 14,000 crore for development of the Imphal-Ukhrul road and Maram Peren road is a vivid example, he said.
While lauding BJP founders for their efforts to make a united India, Biren Singh called upon people of Manipur to shoulder their responsibility towards making India a strong nation.
He further said that the efforts of BJP founders like Deen Dayal Upadhayay and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee to make India a strong and united country have been realised with the abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu & Kashmir by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Under the leadership of PM Modi, India now secures second spot after USA in the field of space science, Biren said.
He, however, strongly condemned the petty politics played by some Indian leaders, who in the past visited USA and Britain and sought help.
According to the chief minister, tradi tional houses/huts for 34 different communities constructed at Sangai Ethnic Park are testimony of the BJP's commitment to bring unity in Manipur and the party has chalked out plans for bringing unity of the state both for present and future.
He said that there is no difference between ethnic communities settling in Manipur and that BJP does not differentiate people on the basis of religion.
He then appealed to party workers to discuss problems and grievances of the people.
Earlier, CM Biren unfurled the party's flag and led the gathering in paying rich floral tributes to portraits of late party leaders.
He also launched BJP OBC Morcha's campaign entitled 'Gao Gao Chalo, Ghar Ghar Chalo Abhiyan' .
The event was also attended by BJP Manipur and Nagaland general secretary Abhay Giri, party leaders and workers.
The 43rd Foundation Day of BJP was also celebrated at different places of the by 57 units of the party.
As part of the celebration, BJP OBC Morcha also conducted 'Gao Gao Chalo, Ghar Ghar Chalo Abhiyan' at Sawombung community hall and it was attended by Lamlai MLA Kh Ibomcha and OBC Morcha president Nongdrenkhomba.
