Mom-daughter MNPF OG workers arrested

Investigation into the recent series of bomb blasts in Ukhrul town, led to the arrest of a mother-daughter duo working as over ground workers of the armed Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF), on Thursday.
The arrested mother-daughter duo has been identified as Jorah Jajo (42), wife of Ruichumhao Jajo, and her daughter Leisa Jajo (22) of Nongdam Lamlong, Nongdam Tangkhul village in Ukhrul district.
Police source said that they received inputs from 16 Assam Rifles on Thursday morning about presence of some UG elements in Yaingangpokpi Keithel area.
A joint team of Special Commando Unit, Khabeisoi led by OC Subedar L Bebekananda and assisted by Jemandar Thangminlen Khongsai under the command of DSP (Ops) Imphal West Md Riyaj, CDO team of Imphal West & Imphal East districts, and Ukhrul district police along with women personnel rushed to the area and carried out search operation.
In the operation, the joint team arrested them from a rented house belonging to one Thingom Robindro at Yaingangpokpi Awang Leikai around 5.30 am.
Upon questioning, the duo disclosed that they are over ground workers of MNPF and Jorah Jajo's husband Ruichumhao is the self-styled finance secretary of the outfit.
They further disclosed that Ruichumhao Jajo used his wife's bank account number 36177964332 at SBI Porompat branch, which is linked to his daughter's GPay account associated with mobile number 9863008357, for collecting/ depositing 'taxes' collected from public, government offices and businessmen in Ukhrul district.
Police seized two mobile phones and some materials including a carry bag (light blue and grey in colour) containing two plastic bottles of 1 kg Oats, two pack ets of 1 kg-Disano Oats, two rolls of N75 Aluminium foil, two wipers, three packets of 1 kg Chakki Atta, which they were planning to hand over to MNPF cadres, from their possession.
The mother daughter duo along with the seized items has been handed over to Yain gangpokpi police station for further legal actions.
