Panel formed for cops' test, CDO fitness

The police department has constituted a board for conducting Pre-Promotion Selection Test (PPST) for procession promotion of police personnel.
An order issued by IGP (administration) on Thursday, stated that the board was constituted for promoting police personnel from constable (male-civil) to head constable (male-civil), head constable (male-civil) to ASI (male-civil), riflemen to havildar, and havildar to jemadar.
Senior SO to DGP Luther Nangsha will head the board as the chairman while AIGP (administration-PHQ) Th San-atomba and 2nd MR assistant commandant Md Tayeb Ali will be the members.
Senior MO of 6 IRB Dr Ph Premjit and senior MO of 2nd MR Dr Gaithalu Kamei will conduct the medical test for the personnel.
The board will fix the schedule for the test on a suitable date at 2nd MR ground while commandant of 2nd MR will make necessary arrangement for the test.
It will also decide on the routine and number of personnel to be assessed per day among others.
The order further instructed the board to submit results of the PPST proceedings to the office of the DGP by May 31 .
At the same time, the order also instructed respective SPs/commandants to submit reports related with names of constable (male-civil), head constable (male-civil), riflemen and havildar, who have completed probation and held their respective ranks of regular service for at least two years, along with their ACR grading reports of the last five years, to the chairman of the board by April i3 .
The police department has also formed a screening committee to check fitness of Manipur Police Commando personnel, who play a major role in maintaining law and order situation in the state.
Sources said the committee will examine physical and psychological fitness status of the CDO personnel and for reassigning different task to those found not up to the physical standard.
Additional DGP (AP) Clay Khongsai will be the chairman of the committee while IPS/MPS officers Phaomei Gonglin, Ksh Ravi-kumar and W Singhajit are the members.
The committee will chalk out the process for the screening and submit the same to the DGP for approval.
In a written communique by Clay Khongsai to the DGP on March 27, the committee chairman informed that a meeting of the committee held on March 16 discussed on the criteria for the screening such age upper age limit, ranks, incorporation of psychiatrists for assessing psychological fitness among others, and sought relevant information from the DGP.
