Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has demanded the upper age limit for general candidates of Manipur Civil Services Examination to be increased to 38 years from the current 35 years.
According to a release issued by the Co-Incharge of BJYM Northeast States P Somojit, other states of India such as Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Rajashthan, Tamil Nadu, Punjab and Jharkhand have made the upper age limit for general candidates of their state civil services examination more than 35 years.
The upper age limit for general in UP, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Tripura is 40 years and even 45 years in Rajasthan.
The upper age limit for general in the State should be made at least 38 years for the civil services examination.
The age relaxation for OBC in the State should also be increased from 3 years to 5 years as followed in other states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Punjab, Odisha, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, the BJYM demanded.
