CM urges not to hamper projects

Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has appealed to the people of Manipur not to disturb development works even if they have dissatisfaction with the policy of the Government.
India is a democratic country and all the differences could be resolved through democratic means, he said and urged the people not to indulge in any form of violent activities.
The Chief Minister was speaking at a reception function organised in honour of newly appointed Deputy Speaker MK Preshow Shimray at Tribal Research Institute.
The function was organised by ADC and BCC of Chingai Assembly Constituency.
Saying that flagship programmes being implemented by the Central Government are meant to bring equal development throughout the country, Ibobi urged all sections of Manipuri society not to hamper these schemes.
Remembering the contributions and achievements of former Chief Minister from Ukhrul district, Yangmasho Shaiza, the Chief Minister said that his untimely demise gave a huge loss to Manipur.
Speaking at the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam observed that appointment of Preshow Shimray to the post of Deputy Speaker indicates Congress Government's strength in the State.
He also claimed that no other party other than Congress can bring stable Government in Manipur.
Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Lokeshore expressed hope that appointment of Preshow Shimray as Deputy Speaker would bring a change in Manipur.
Speaking at the occasion, Preshow Shimray promised to work equally for both hill and valley people.
