Light of the World Austria interacts with disabled people in Sadar Hills

Three members of 'Light for the World', a European confederation of national development NGOs had an interaction program here today at Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organization office.
The interaction program was hosted by All Disabled Union Sadar Hills (ADUSH) in collaboration with Manipur North Economic Development Association (MANEDA) .
More than 60 disabled persons within Sadar Hills attended the program which was also attended by various CSOs leaders including Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills, Kangpokpi Town Committee, Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organization, Senapati Disabled People's Association Manipur (SDPAM) and special educators from SSA.

Many disable persons highlighted their tremendous problems and hardships to the members of Light for the World in the program which has been enthusiastically attended by the three members.
While encouraging the disable people the members of Light for the World based at Austria said that you have legitimate rights to highlighted your problems and hardships to the concerned authority before adding that we are very much move by the conditions of the persons with disabilities in the district.
The three members also emphasized the need to strengthen the mobilization and formation of persons with disabilities.
In the meantime, Peter Rangnamei, President of MANEDA lamented that there are enormous amount of funds under SSA which had returned back to the centre Govt.in the previous financial year before wondering how and why those fund had been returned back to the centre Govt.while it was granted to utilized for the welfare of the disable people.
"Is it the failure of Disable People Organization in the state or the concerned authority negligence?", asked MANEDA supremo.
He continued that Light for the World is dedicated to ensuring the rights of persons with disabilities in developing countries, without discrimination of gender, ethnicity, social group or religion and it is now operating in 15 countries in the world.
Raising awareness on the situation of persons with disabilities in their family ad environment which is an important basis for social inclusion and for the autonomy and self-determination of persons with disabilities is one of the main objectives of Light for the World added MANEDA chief.
