OT inaugurated at Senapati Hospital

The much awaited operation theatre (OT) was inaugurated at Senapati district hospital today.
The OT debuted today with a successful delivery.
RD&PR Minister Francis Ngajokpa attended the inauguration function as the chief guest in the presence of Health Service & NRHM Director Dr Okram Ibomcha, Deputy Commissioner Jacintha Lazarus and CMO Dr Loli Mao.
Civil bodies' members, NRHM officials, district medical officials and others also attended the function.
CMO Dr Loli Mao in his welcome speech expressed difficulties of making the hospital functional due to the shortage of grade IV staff especially nurses as there are only 11 nurses against the requisite strength of 29.The hospital is also in need of one radiologist, OT technician and one CSSD.
Presently, there is only one specialist in Anesthesia, 2 gynaecologists and two trained anaesthetists.
Francis Ngajokpa while lauding the State and district officials in fulfilling the wishes of the people also acknowledged the contributions of Chief Minister O Ibobi who after laying the foundation in 2006 pushed hard to make the upgraded hospital a reality.
The Minister said that the significant declining incidences of bandh and other forms of agitation for the past two years paved the way for developmental activities.
He also appealed to the civil bodies to provide moral and physical protection to the medical sector to enhance health services.
