Imphal, November 18 2014:
Stating that defection is rampant everywhere in the country, CPI has said that the party is set to launch a Nationwide campaign to bring a political change.
Addressing a press conference held at Irawat Bhawan, CPI Manipur State Council secretary Dr M Nara said that BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre has recently waived off around Rs 25 lakh crore for different corporate houses.
On the other hand, BJP is planning to strengthen their communal agendas with the appointment of RSS leader Amit Shah as their president, he alleged.
He further said that the culture, history and education in the country have been tinged saffron by the ruling party.
At this critical juncture, CPI's National executive meeting held in Hyderabad from October 29 to 30 took a concrete resolution to launch a campaign against the anti-people policies of the NDA Government with an aim to save the country from the changing scenario brought by the communal politics of BJP, Dr Nara said and added that he attended the meeting as a representative from the State.
The said campaign would commence with a mass protest to be staged for one week from December 8 to 14, he added.
Weakening of MGNREGS, price rise and foreign direct investment (FDI) would be mainly protested during the campaign, he added.
He further said that mass protest rallies would be staged all over the country including Imphal on December 5, he added.
On the other hand, Dr Nara also demanded the Government to implement ILPS in the State at the earliest.
