Imphal, January 05 2022:
While claiming that Patsoi assembly constituency has become first among the 60 assembly constituencies in providing cent percent cards to beneficiaries of National Food Security Act (NFSA), Patsoi MLA Ak Mirabai has said that people of the state have no expectation from the BJP-led government which has failed to provide regular entitlements to government employees and pensioners.
Speaking at the inauguration of a newly constructed community hall at Langjing Achouba Mayai Leikai on Wednesday, Ak Mirabai expressed elation that Patsoi has become first the assembly constituency in state which provides NFSA cards to all the beneficiaries of the constituency.
Apart from this, preparations are on to include new beneficiaries of the constituency.
The NFSA cards are lifetime, she said, adding that the feat achieved by Patsoi AC in cent percent NFSA card generation is unachievable in the remaining 59 assembly segments of the state including chief minister's Heingang constituency.
According to Mirabai, government is unable to provide rice quota fully to all the beneficiaries.
Though officials concerned have promised to increase rice quota in the month of January this year, it is yet to confirm whether the rice quota would be increased or not.
Nevertheless, people of Patsoi AC are being provided rice every month and would continue to do so, she added.
Criticising the present government in the state, the Congress MLA said that the people have no hope from the BJP-led government which has failed to release salary and pension amount for government employees and pensioners.
She alleged that the government has been wrongly utilising huge fund released for poor people of the state under MGNREGS and 15th Finance Commission and this proves that the present government is anti-people.
While ridiculing laying of foundation stones for various projects by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at election time, Ak Mirabai asked as to where was the PM in the past four and half years and National Sports University remained unmoved even after laying foundation stone.
Fooling public ahead of election would not serve any purpose and Congress government is sure to come back after the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election, she added.
On the development works she took up in the past 10 years, Mirabai said that some people question about tardy development in the past 10 years but they should analyse condition of Patsoi AC before she became the representative.
She also said that many new work programmes for the constituency particularly in road and communication and drinking water provision are in the pipeline.
