Imphal, January 05 2022:
Former minister and BJP Manipur Pradesh spokesperson Dr Nimaichand Luwang has said that Congress party will not be able to get double digit seats in the 2022 elections to the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly.
While releasing a report on the developmental works taken up by him in Wangkhem assembly constituency in the last three years, during a function held at state guesthouse here on Wednesday, Nimaichand said that BJP will win over 40 seats in the election and the state will have a stable and strong government due to the welfare initiatives taken up by the BJP government in the current term.
He also hailed the BJP-led government at the Centre for renaming Mt Harriet to Mt Manipur.
On the other hand, the 15 years of Congress rule was marked by extrajudicial killings, bandhs and blockades.
Sapam Robinhood was killed during protest for implementation of ILP during the Congress government but the BJP brought ILP System in the state.
Nine civilians were killed in Churachandpur during a protest and BJP-led government resolved the issue after which the burial ceremony of the nine victims were conducted.
Considering its past records, Congress party will not be able to win even 10 seats, he said.
He had not only provided help to the people of Wangkhem AC during the Covid-19 pandemic but also contributed in providing 4233 LPG connections under Ujjwala Yojana, PMJAY & CMHT cards to 329 beneficiaries, and other development works from May, 2019 onwards, Nimaichand claimed.
