A "One-day consultative meet on the last 5 years and the way forward" programme was held on Wednesday at Shangsoumi, South Lousing Ukhrul.
Speaking on the occasion, 44 (ST) Ukhrul MLA Alfred Kanngam Shangshakwoshi Arthur stated that he has been earnestly pursuing his vision of Ukhrul to fulfill the aspiration of the people through democratic processes.
He appealed to the people of 44-Ukhrul AC to sacrifice today for the future and choose the person who could take risk and shoulder responsibilities for the betterment of the people as their representative.
"Come let us reason together", the MLA asserted.
Arthur then reiterated his commitments including the transformation of education, health care and rehabilitation of youths to reform the tribal economy and alleviate the living standard.

In regards to the ADC Bill, he stated that the bill would decentralize the development funds to the people while adding that the tribal community has the right to receive their due share of developmental funds from the Government.
"The HAC recommended ADC bill-2021 will empower the ADCs and bring equal & equitable development and bridge the hills & valley divide", said Arthur while adding that the drafted ADC Bill is within the parameters of Indian constitution.
He also informed that he had toured almost all the villages under 44-Ukhrul AC including the last eastern village 'Kachou Phung' to take stock of the living conditions and ensure well being of the people.
The MLA further enlightened the gathering on the democratic form of governance, federal structures of Indian Union and its functions.
Earlier, a minute silence was observed to pay respect to the departed friends and colleagues of the MLA.
Later, Headmen, pastors and VAs blessed Alfred Arthur for the ensuing 12th Manipur Assembly Election 2022 .
Arthur Shangshakwoshi, father of the MLA also presented a special number "God be with You till we meet".
The crowd then gave a standing ovation to Alfred Kanngam Shangshakwoshi Arthur and shouted the slogan "I will vote for my rights" to mark their support.
