Polo: Tekcham, Tentha riders set up final showdown

Tekcham Polo Club-A and Tentha Polo Club set up title clash following their respective semifinal triumphs in the 2nd Thoubal District Polo Tournament on Wednesday.
Tekcham Polo Club-A barely broke a sweat in their semifinal encounter against Samurou Polo Club as M Ruber shone with his mallet with a haul of five goals in his side's 9-1 hammering of their opponents.
Tekcham started off with a 2-0 lead in the first chukker through K Jugindro and S Sadananda.
In the second chukker, M Kuber hammered in a pair of goals to further extend Tekcham's lead while Samurou pulled a goal back through O Paikhomba.
Kuber upped the scoring ante for his team in the third chukker with another double after teammate M Doren found their fifth goal.
The Tekcham riders went into the fourth chukker leading 7-1 and they rounded off their scoring with two more goals with strikes from Kuber, his fifth, and M Abhigyan.
Tentha Polo Club, on the other hand, produced an 8-2 drubbing of Tekcham Polo Club-B en route to the final.
Tentha opened the game with a dominant 4-0 lead after S Naoba and P Bikash scored two goals apiece.
They added a goal in the next chukker with Bikash on target.
In the third chukker, Bikash pumped in two more goals to complete his five-goal haul and teammate S Priyo found their eighth goal.
Tekcham-B claimed a goal each in the third and fourth chukkers but at the end of the game it was Tentha Polo Club who earned an easy passage to the final.
