Imphal, January 05 2022:
Manipur in-charge of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Bhakta Charan Das arrived here on Wednesday to assess preparations of the party in connection with the upcoming state assembly elections.
Interacting with the media on his arrival at Imphal Airport, BC Das said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Imphal visit holds no value.
Whatever he said and assured of during his public address was the same assurance given in the run up to the 2014, 2017 and 2019 elections, which his government failed to uphold.
The country is in its worst state under the BJP rule.
Corruption and unemployment issues have increased significantly and the country's economy is falling down.
There is no place for women under the Modi government.
Instead of taking up steps to address these issues, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid foundation stones for several projects just before the election as a poll gimmick, he said.
He also said that the projects inaugurated by PM Modi were initiated by the Ibobi government and the public know it well.
As the people of Manipur are no longer supporting the BJP government, the saffron party will definitely resort to money power to win the election but despite that Congress will form the next government in the state definitely, he added.
