Will prioritise prevention of Covid-19: Joykisan

Stating that he would not be holding frequent election meetings in connection with the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election so as to avoid any huge public gatherings; Thangmeiband AC MLA Kh Joykisan said that his priority would be preventing any spread of the new Covid-19 variant.
The MLA also stated that he would not be campaigning for votes with propaganda.
On Wednesday, Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation (TAKDO) organised a distribution function of e-SHRAM cards for beneficiaries of Ward No 1 at Ibudhou Naithikhogn Pakhangba Shanglen.
Speaking at the event, Joykisan informed that the e-SHRAM cards are being distributed in view of his upcoming announcement to be made by January 10 regarding the polls.
Beneficiaries of Ward no 1 who did not receive the cards on Wednesday will be provided the same after collection of necessary documents by the volunteers concerned.
The MLA then predicted that he would get increased number of votes in Thangmeiband AC by around 30 percent.
As such, he would be not be holding frequent election meetings for the upcoming polls so as to avoid any huge public gatherings so as to contribute his mite in checking spread of the pandemic.
Furthermore, there is no need for propaganda as the denizens of the constituency are matured and well aware of the current situation, he conveyed.
Recounting the works he has undertaken in the constituency since he became its elected representative, Joykisan said that the works, which had been delayed for a long time due to the Covid-19 pandemic, will soon be resumed.
He then informed that regarding the booth-level cleanliness competition held on December 12 last, he talked with TAKDO and made the decision to distribute prize money of same amount won by the winning booth, to all the other booths.
As such, he urged the individuals concerned to collect the prize money soon.
