Role of clubs & women folks in developing society vital: Minister Mirabai

Imphal, November 03 2014: The Golden Jubilee celebration of Moirang Hanuba Youth Development Club (MHYDC) was celebrated at its premises located at Sagolband Tera, Imphal West with Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai attending as the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Mirabai noted that role of clubs and women folks in developing the society are of paramount importance while reminding their roles in pacifying any untoward incident cropped in locality or village which is commendable.

The Minister said that people should show respect to measures taken up by clubs and woman folks as they are working for betterment of the society.

Asserting that the government has been coming up with various developmental measures from time to time to bring growth in the State which is much needed, she maintained that the State would be developed only after localities and villages are developed.

Patsoi Constituency is lagging behind in terms of development as compared to other constituencies which is due to the inefficiency and lack of commitment on parts of her predecessors, she pointed out.

Appealing to the people to extend cooperation to her to meet requirements needed in the constituency, the Minister announced that survey of the deplorable roads under Moirang Hanuba Maning and Mamang Leikai would be conducted to restore it under PMGSY.

Besides Oinam Mangilal, president of MHYDC who graced as president; the function was also attended by Kh Amuyaima, president of SSC Moirang Hanuba Leirak; Kh Rajen, former president of MHYDC and A Manimala, Member of 4-Takyel Zilla Parishad as guests of honor.

As part of the function, the Social Welfare Minister inaugurated a newly built shed meant for women folks of Moirang Hanuba Mamang Leikai which was constructed from her own pocket.
