Decks cleared for MUSU election

Imphal, November 03 2014:
Election of office bearers of Manipur University Student's Union (MUSU) for the academic session 2014-15 would be held on November 12, according to a notice issued by the Returning Officer, MUSU Eelction 2014-15, Prof N Joykumar Singh.
Election would be held for the posts of president, general secretary, finance secretary, cultural secretary and sports secretary, representatives of all departments and PhD students.
The last date of the filing of nomination paper (on payment of Rs 50) would be November 6 .
Scrutiny of candidates would be held on November 7 at the Centenary Hall, MU at 11 am.
Candidates can withdraw the nomination paper till 4 pm of November 10, it added.
The time of the poll would be from 10 am to 1 pm.
The results of the poll would be declared after the counting of votes from 2 pm the same day (November 12) .
Candidates must deposit a sum of Rs 500 as security deposit for presidentship/secretaryship.
The security amount thus deposited are refundable to the elected candidates only.
Candidates who have withdrawn their nomination papers would be refunded 50 percent of the deposited amount, the notice added.
The last date of the issue or renewal of ID cards would be November 3 till 4.30 pm.
The nomination paper for the election would be issued at the counter opened at the office of the Returning Officer from November 3 during office hours.
The duly filled in nomination forms along with the particulars of the candidate, in duplicate copies, with recent photographs attested by the Head of the department/centre concerned would be received by the Returning Officer during office hours till November 6, the notice said.
