Ibobi stated that due process would be initiated after consultation with PHE Minister to lay a water pipeline from Laimaton hill to Lamdan for supplying potable water.
Laimaton hill has a perennial source of water and it is just around 7 Kms away from Lamdan.
Along this 7 Kms long section, water pipes have been laid along a 2.5 Kms long stretch when TN Haokip was the PHE Minister.
Pipeline for the remaining section would be laid soon in consultation with the PHE Minister so as to supply potable water to the people of Lamdan and surrounding villages, Ibobi stated.
He further assured that the road from Kom Keirap to Lamdan would be developed as an all-weather road.
Responding to MMTA president Dr Surjit's appeal to help in upgrading the MMI to the status of a regional institute, the Chief Minister stated that he would take up the matter with the Ministry of DoNER and other relevant Ministries so as to make MMI a well known institute across the country.
Ibobi also acknowledged local MLA Manga Vaiphei's contribution in developing the MMTA's Lamdan complex from the very beginning.
Notably, it was none other than Tenzing Norgay who laid the foundation stone for the MMTA complex.
Dr Surjit gave a brief account of how MMTA developed its Lamdan complex to its present stage.
Later former MMTA president N Ibungochoubi gave a power point presentation about the various activities of MMTA.
