Startup Weekend Imphal to be held on November 7

Imphal, November 03 2014:
North East State's first Startup Weekend Imphal event organized by outreach partners NIBIAA Consultancy, Dynamic Manipur and MIMS, MU with members from San Francisco, South Korea, Delhi and Manipur will be held on November 7 at Manipur Institute of Management Studies, MIMS, MU.
This is first of its kind in entire North East States.
Coaches with expertise in finance, legal, marketing, sales, coding, technology, food technology and other areas are available throughout the weekend to guide teams toward success.
The weekend culminates on November 9 with the teams demonstrating their prototypes and sharing their business plans to local entrepreneurial leaders who provide valuable feedback, informed Jiten Nongmaithem, Startup weekend team.
Startup Weekend is a nonprofit organization based in Seattle that promotes 54-hour events around the world where developers, designers, marketers, startup enthusiasts and others come together to share ideas, form teams, build products and create new businesses.
The event is sponsored by Reliable Hydrotech (Brand:Marina Spring), Loktak Industries (Brand: Silver Dew), Babina Diagnostics, The Hotel Classic and NASSCOM with Manipur Times, The Peoples' Chronicle, E-pao, Manipur Mail and Impact TV as media partners.
A pre-party boot camp will be conducted at several colleges of Imphal area from October 20 through November 5, 2014. Free and open to the public, the pre-party will provide information about Startup Weekend and the opportunity for entrepreneurial thinkers to pitch an idea for a new business to event organizers.
The person who pitches the most viable idea will receive a complimentary space in Startup Weekend Imphal.
Startup Weekend has supported more than annual 1800 events globally.
More than 36 percent of businesses launched at Startup Weekends are still going strong three months after the event, and about 80 percent of Startup Weekend participants plan to continue working with their team after the conclusion of the event, according to the organization.
The non-profit organization is headquartered in Seattle, Washington but Startup Weekend organizers and facilitators can be found in over 200 cities around the world.
From Mongolia to South Africa to London to Brazil, people around the globe are coming together for weekend long workshops to pitch ideas, form teams, and start companies.
