Imphal, November 03 2014: Komrem Union, Manipur has vehemently condemned the reported attack on one Thangboi Kom S/o (L) Khupte Kom, chief of Malamphai, CCpur district at his residence last night by unknown miscreants.

Thangboi and his mother got injured in the attack.

In a statement signed by its president, Lalkhomang Serto, the Komrem Union also strongly negated the claims of the attackers who asserted that Malamphai village belongs to the Vaiphei community.

It said that not a single Vaiphei family has settled or inhabited the village.

Saying that the village is inhabited by the Kom community alone, the KUM warned them not to interfere in matter of Komrem villages for the sake of peaceful coexistence.
