Imphal, August 01 2026:
Kuki National Organisation (KNO) president and supreme commander PS Haokip has been "kicked out" of the organisation, claimed a report.
Though the report couldn't be verified independently, it said PS Haokip was removed from his position on July 31 allegedly after an "internal coup" .
At the same time a social media input which has gone viral said that a decision to invite Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand to Kangpokpi on August 8, has been adopted.
A letter purportedly issued from Camp Salem of its military wing Kuki National Army (KNA) on July 31 said it no longer recognises PS Haokip's authority as the president and supreme commander.

The letter which couldn't be verified independently was addressed to PS Haokip and was signed by KNA's defence secretary TS Touthang and commander in chief Brave Kuki.
PS Haokip was removed from his position after an emergency high level meeting, said the letter.
The letter further stated that the presidential system of governance of the organisation has been dissolved, and declared that a newly formed body, the "Kuki National Army-Military Council (KNA-MC)" has assumed full administrative and operational control.
Meanwhile, sources said the KNF-P/UPF home secretary Jangboi Kipgen and KNF-P president ST Thangboi Kipgen have summoned Kuki civil bodies including SAHILCA, CoTU and KISH to a meeting to discuss tension between Kuki and Naga communities.
The meeting, organised under the banner of the Unified Command, which comprises KNF-P, KRA, KNA, KLA, KRF, KRA-U and KNF-N, was aimed at defusing tension between the Kuki and Naga communities, said the sources.
The meeting also unanimously resolved to invite the Chief Minister to Kangpokpi on August 8 .
