Kakching, January 30 2015 :
Normal life along Imphal-Moreh Road came to a grinding halt on account of the indefinite bandh called by villagers of Tengnoupal in Chandel District on Friday.
The indefinite bandh was called in protest against denying free movement to the villagers allegedly by 24 Assam Rifles.
Since early morning, large numbers of women came out to block the Imphal-Moreh section of National Highway 102 at Tengnoupal and shouted slogans against the Assam Rifles.

They also held several placards inscribed with wordings like "Go Back Assam Rifles", "Assam Rifles are not friends of Hill people", "Transfer 24 Assam Rifles", "We are not terrorists", etc.
The bandh supporters also prohibited movement of vehicles including that of personnel of Assam Rifles during the bandh.
