Imphal, August 14 2026: The Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) has announced total shutdown until 12 pm on August 15 and directed all educational institutions within its jurisdiction to refrain from participating in any celebration or programme in observance of Independence Day.

This directive is issued in pursuance of the directives issued by the Naga Students' Federation (NSF) and the All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM), said the TKS in a statement.
