Imphal, January 30 2015 : Thangjamang Kipgen (40), a member of Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (ADC) was shot at on Friday at his residence located at Langol Games Village, Type IV, Zone III by unidentified gunman at around 10.30 in the morning.

Kipgen is a resident of Bongbal Phulen Village under Saikhul Police Station and currently staying in the government quarter.

According to the members of the victim's family, the gunman barged into the house and asked Kipgen to open the door.

When the door was opened, the unidentified man asked for money to refill a vehicle.

When he refused, one of the men took out a revolver and shot at his right shoulder.

He also fired at the door, windows and a Bolero vehicle and fled from the spot in a scooter with another man.

Kipgen was rushed to RIMS Hospital and returned after being administered the first aid.

The incident has been condemned by ADC Chairman Haokholal.
