36 new cases, three deaths reported

Imphal, February 25 2022:
In what could be signs of the third wave of Covid-19 subsiding, the state on Friday reported only 36 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1041 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering a positivity rate of 3.46 per cent against 3.79 per cent recorded on Thursday.
However, three death cases were reported on Friday which took the toll to 2108 .
They were residents of Imphal East, Churachandpur and Thoubal districts.
One of them was a fully vaccinated while the other two were unyaccinated.
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 188 vaccinated persons of which 58 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 60 patients were discharged from home isolation (46), RIMS (3), JNIMS (5) and CCCs (6) .
The active case came down to 536 out of which 191 (35.63 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 273 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 100 in RIMS.
So far, the state has recorded 10,902 positive cases and 106 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 3434 new positive cases and 62 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 368 and 16 respectively.
According to official reports, all the 36 fresh cases (22 male & 14 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at RIMS (1) and other testing centres (35) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (7), Imphal West (9), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (4), Kangpokpi (1), Tamenglong (2), Noney (1), Ukhrul (8), Chandel (1) and Senapati The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,690 while number of recovered cases is 1,34,046 (general population - 1,29,062 and CAPF personnel - 4,984) and number of active cases is 536 (general population - 520 and CAPF personnel - 16) .
The recovery rate is 98.07 per cent.
A total 5184 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 15,06,079, out of which 11,27,362 had received second doses and 58,086 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48579), Imphal East (30354), Thoubal (10117), Churachandpur (11032), Kangpokpi (3118), Tamenglong (3464), Bishnupur (9792), Senapati (2474), Ukhrul (3253), Kakching (6861), Chandel (2697), Noney (1151), Tengnoupal (1190), Jiribam (1110), Kamjong (1033), and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (702), Imphal East (508), Thoubal (188), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (204), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (49), Kakching (121), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,051 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,588 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,06,257 tests per million population against the national average of 5,45,494 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate stands at 8.70 per cent.
