Imphal, January 30 2014:
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, who is also in-charge of Home Department, has said that the State Government would provide necessary Z-plus security cover to BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi during his proposed election campaign here on February 8 next month.
He was replying to the queries of media persons on the sidelines of Martyrs' Day observance held at Congress Bhavan here today.
When asked about the trilateral talks with United Naga Council (UNC), Gaikhangam said that the State Government is yet to receive the details of the talks from the Centre.
There are no fixed areas as to what the talks will focus on nor has any arrangement been made regarding who would participate in the talks from the government side, he addd.
Further, the Deputy CM mocked at the attackers of Railway Project at Tamenglong saying that they are simply trying to assert their existence by making petty attacks at the outskirts of the project site.
The actual sites of Jiribam-Tupul Railway Project are well guarded by Assam Rifles and other security forces, Gaikhangam added.
IMPHAL, Jan 30: Manipur deputy chief minister Gaikhangam while harping on the United Naga Council (UNC) meeting with the state government at Senapati on the 'alternative arrangement' for the Nagas in Manipur, said there are no fixed areas as to what the talks will be focused on, nor any arrangement has been made regarding who would be participating from the government side.
