Imphal, January 30 2014:
An open dialogue on the present political situation of Manipur Muslims (Past and Present) held at Classic Hotel with Moulana Moinuddin Quasmi, Moulana Heshamuddin and Advocate Abdul Qaiyum has resolved to boycott Narendra Modi's scheduled visit to Imphal for his anti-minority activities specially the 2002 Gujarat riots where thousands of minority Muslims were massacred and tortured without any protection from Government machinery.
The open dialogue was jointly organised by the Jamiatul Ulema Manipur (Arshad Madani) and Muslim Social Workers' Union, Manipur.
It also resolved to boycott all Muslim leaders who have been trying to help Narendra Modi become the Prime Minister of India.
After deliberating on why Narendra Modi was denied visa to visit the USA by the US Government, the open dialogue adopted another resolution which stated that a highly communal person like Narendra Modi should not be allowed to land on the secular soil of Manipur in order to prevent tarnishing the beautiful image of Manipur.
The gathering also conveyed gratitude to Congress leaders particularly UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, AICC Political Secretary Ahmed Patel, Chief Minister O Ibobi and MPCC president Gaikhangam for minority Muslim leader Meraimayum Abdul Salam as the lone Rajya Sabha MP of Manipur.
