Muslim bodies to boycott Modi's visit

Imphal, January 30 2014:
Several Muslim social organizations of the State have resolved to boycott BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi during his proposed visit to the State on February 8 next month.
The resolution was taken during an open dialogue on present political situation of Manipur Muslims (Past and Present) organized by Jamiatul Ulema Manipur and Muslim Social Workers' Union, Manipur at Hotel Classic, North AOC here today.
According to the Muslim leaders, Narendra Modi would be boycotted in the State for his anti-minorities activities, especially in 2002 Gujarat Riots where thousands of minority Muslims were massacred and tortured without any protection from the Government machineries.
The organizations also resolved to boycott the Muslim leaders who have been helping Narendra Modi to become Prime Minister of India.
The Muslim leaders further extended their gratitude to the Congress leaders for nominating Muslim leader Abdul Salam for the lone Rajya Sabha seat of the State.
A public meeting of all Muslim leaders of the State would also be held on February 5 next month.
