Victim family moots legal action

Imphal, January 30 2014:
Even as police have registered an FIR in connection with the physical assault on one Longjam Jems (Mukta) of Sagolband Tera Khuraijam Leirak, the victim family has decided to initiate legal action against police for their alleged in action.
Speaking to media persons at their Sagolband Tera Khuraijam Leirak residence today, Jems' maternal uncle Ingudam Gojen said that Jems (24) s/o late Longjam Herojit was thrashed blue and black inside the Welfare Club of Sagolband Amudon Akham Leikai at about 5 am
of January 15 .
Even as Gojen pleaded repeatedly to stop beating Jems, all the pleadings went to deaf ears.
Subsequently a complaint was filed at Imphal police with an appeal to pull up five persons involved in the brutal physical assault.
Although an FIR was registered, no accused has been pulled up till date.
Jems was accused of stealing articles from B Muhindro Sharma's house and also peeping at B Bimola while she was taking bath inside bathroom.
But Jems who was present at the press meet denied all these charges.
Gojen further appealed to police to investigate the case in proper and fair manner.
