Heirok club blames ZP Member

A local club of Heirok village in Thoubal district has accused its Zila Parishad Member of siphoning off MGNREGS funds in connivance with the staff of Manipur Rural Bank.
In a press meet held at Manipur Press Club yesterday, Kabo Leikai Development Association (KDA), Heirok Part-III executive advisor Robindro said that Heirok Part-III Zila Parishad Member Sh Dineshwori has fraudulently withdrawn Rs 3010 each from the bank accounts of 137 job card holders of Heirok Part-III GP recently.
Maintaining that that accounts of the job card holders are opened at Manipur Rural Bank, Wangjing branch, Robindro said that the ZP Member gave Rs 550 each only to the job card holders.
He further said that the ZP Member had also fraudulantly withdrawn work component amount of Rs 1,77,939 without executing any work under the work name, 'construction of side drain of Salam Leirak to Khuman' on July 27 last year.
Moreover, Robindro said, Dineshwori had also withdrawn material component amount of Rs 1,08,009 and Rs 72,000 on August 14, 2013 and November 29, 2013 respectively and work component amount of Rs 4,199985.Saying that the mess came to light after KDA and job card holders jointly investigated the matter, Robindro alleged that the ZP Member even manhandled KDA Vice-President Dineshwor Phuritsabam.
