Traffic to be regulated for 'Bor'

Imphal, October 11, 2013:
To ensure the safety and conveniences of of the devotees and general public on the day of 'Bor Pujah' of Hiyangthang Lairembi temple at Hiyangthang to be held on October 12, traffic and parking places would be regulated.
According to an order issued in this regard today, Director of Transport M Luikham has notified that no motor vehicles including cycles, rickshaws, etc except those belonging to VIPs, ambulances, fire-brigades, security personnel and magistrates on duty hall be allowed to proceed beyond Phuramakhong and Tarahei Konjil point along Mayang Imphal road, Hiyangthang Kangjeibung from Ningombam Mekola Hiyangthang Roaf, Kamakhya Pemton College from Irom Meijrao Road and Samurou ground Mayang Imphal side from 2 am on October 12 till the Bor Pujah is over.
However, light motor vehicles/two wheelers/ autoricksaw, cycle rickshaws, etc coming from Tiddim road and willing to proceed upto Hiyangthang Kangjeibung via Nambol, Mekola, Ningombam, Kodompokpi Lamkhai and Malom shall be allowed.
All motor vehicles coming from Imphal towards Hiyangthang shall be diverted towards Haoreibi along Imphal river bank and those coming from Imphal towards Hiyangthang shall be diverted toward Ningombam side from Phuramakhong.
Moreover, vehicles have to park only at the notified parking places which shall be managed by the local clubs/organisations.
Accordingly, vehicles coming from Imphal shall park at Langthabal Phuramakhong, those coming from Canchipur at LP School Madrassa (Tarahei Konjil), those coming from Tiddim Road via Mekola and Ningombam at Hiyangthang Kangjeibung ground, those coming from Irom Meijrao and Nambol side at Pemton College ground, those coming from Mayang Imphal side at Samurou ground, those coming from Lilong/ Canchipur side at Takhellambam ground and at Chandranadi point for those vehicles coming from Haoreibi/Karam side, the order said.
