HKL demands immediate appointment of Ukhrul ZEO

The Hungphung Katamnao Long (HKL) or the Ukhrul Students' Union has demanded the authority concerned for immediate appointment of regular ZEO for Ukhrul, which has been lying vacant for about five months now.
The HKL has submitted a memorandum to the Education Minister for immediate appointment of ZEO, Ukhrul without any political intervention.
The students' body further demanded that appointment of the vacant Ukhrul ZEO should be made purely on his/her eligibility, qualification and seniority within ten days.
It warned the authority of taking up course of actions if the demands are not met within the stipulated time.
Meanwhile, the president of HKL told media persons here today that the district has been facing hardship in many fronts due to the absence of a regular ZEO.
The district is without regular ZEO since Th Yaima was transferred since May this year.
A very junior officer was given the in-charge of the office.
President of Raphei Katamnao Long, Kapangsing also highlighted several problems faced by Govt educational institutions in the absence of a ZEO.
The HKL and RKL warned of closing down all schools within their jurisdiction if the demands are not met in time.
