North Eastern Council (NEC) Secretary Ameising Luikham landed at Imphal today and reviewed the projects being implemented in Manipur with NEC funds.
The NEC Secretary held a meeting with Chief Secretary PC Lawmkunga at the conference hall, Secretariat South Block this afternoon and reviewed the projects being implemented in the State under NEC.
The Accountant General, high ranking State Government officials and representatives of the Airport Authority of India were also present at the meeting.
After reviewing 65 numbers of projects being implemented in the State with NEC funds, the NEC Secretary suggested the State officials to claim the final instalment of funds for five year old but incomplete projects after completing them.
Asking if construction of hangar and compound wall for Tulihal Airport can be completed within the current financial year, the NEC Secretary stated that funds allocated for these projects can be diverted to other projects if they cannot be completed within the current financial year.
After the meeting, Ameising Luikham visited Chief Minister O Ibobi and the duo talked about several matters.
Luikham would visit Ukhrul tomorrow and inspect the livelihood project being implemented there.
He would leave Imphal on October 14 .
