MGNREGA, only source of livelihood of Irang areas

"If Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Gaurantee Act is not implemented, people of Irang Areas would have been vanished long time back", pointed out Hari Prasad Nepal, GB, Irang Part-I. Irang area under 50-Kangpokpi AC is situated along Imphal-Tamenglong Road, commonly known as IT.Road, said to be one of the oldest roads of the state.
The area which have been divided into Irang Part-I and Irang Part-II comprised of 28 villages where Irang Part-I consists of 12 village while Irang Part-II consists of 18 villages.
Hari Prasad was speaking at the inauguration function of Bharat Nirman Rajiv Gandhi Sewa Kendra at Paudel Basti, Irang Part-I where Nemcha Kipgen, MLA 50-Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency, DK.Thangboi, MCS, Addl.Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi; Bhumi Prasad Basnet a.k.a.Vikash, EM, SHADC-Kpi and Smt.Rajkumari Sedai, Ex-Zilla Parishad Member, Kanglatongbi graced the occasion as Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and Functional President respectively.
The Community Hall has been constructed under MGNREGA, according to the organizing committee.
Traditional Nepali dance and Buddhist Dance marked the grand occasion.
Speaking on the occasion after inaugurating the Community Hall, MLA Nemcha Kipgen lauded the tireless efforts of people of Irang and pointed out the importance facilities serve to the people by such Community Hall.
She also expressed her happiness on inauguration of such an important property of the people of Irang during the religious festival of Durga Puja and urged everyone to utilize the Hall for upliftment and development of the areas.
The MLA also distributed Kettle to the 28 village temples as gifts for Durga Puja.
