Imphal, September 07 2026: Unknown miscreants burnt down Lhungjang Primary School in Kangpokpi today, following a gunfight between Kuki militants and another armed group.

Lhungjang Village is located about 10 Km away from Chalwa police station along Imphal-Tamei road.

According to well placed sources, the gunfight reportedly took place at around 5 am and lasted around 30 minutes.

The firefight stopped after the security personnel rushed to the spot.

The situation remains tense even though security measures have been taken up to prevent any kind of further unwanted incident in the area.
