A joint team of security personnel arrested eight cadres of the Kuki Liberation Army (KLA) during a cordon-and-search operation at Gampum village under Saikul Police Station in Kangpokpi district this morning.
KLA is a signatory to the Suspension of Operations pact inked between the Union Government, the Manipur Government and dozens of Kuki militant outfits.
According to sources, the joint team comprising personnel of the Manipur Police, CoBRA, CRPF, Mahila Police and Rapid Action Force cordoned off Gampum village and conducted a search operation.

The KLA camp was subsequently locked and sealed by the security personnel, the sources said.
